How to tell differences Halogen lamp and led lamp ?

The comparison between halogen lamp and LED lamp is as follows:

First, the principle of luminescence

Halogen lamp: The use of tungsten wire light, its filling gas contains some halogen elements or halides. In ordinary incandescent lamps, the high temperature of the filament vaporizes the tungsten, and the evaporated tungsten precipitates on the glass shell, resulting in blackening of the bulb housing.

LED lamp: is a light-emitting diode, through the current driven LED chip light. Generally, the semiconductor LED is solidified on the bracket with silver or white glue, and then the chip and circuit board are connected with silver or gold wire, and the inner core wire is protected by an epoxy resin seal.

  1. Energy Consumption

Halogen lamp: The energy consumption is relatively high, usually about 55W.

LED lights: low energy consumption, generally about 20W. LED lighting is highly energy efficient and can produce higher brightness with lower energy consumption.

Three, color temperature

Halogen lamp: The color temperature is usually between 2700K and 3200K, giving a warm and comfortable feeling.

LED lights: The color temperature range is wide, usually between 4300K and 6000K, and can be adjusted according to needs to provide different lighting effects.

  1. Service life

Halogen lamp: The life is relatively short, generally only 1000-2000 hours, and the bulb needs to be replaced frequently.

LED lights: Long life, usually up to tens of thousands of hours, reducing the frequency of replacement bulbs.

  1. Application

Halogen lamp: often used in microwave ovens, ovens, heaters, electric kettles and other equipment lighting or heating.

LED lights: a wide range of uses, including home lighting, traffic lights, bicycle lights, pedestrian lights, flashlights and so on. LED lamps have a small volume and can be easily installed in tight Spaces or specially shaped designs.

  1. Other features

Halogen lamp: small size, high luminous efficiency, can reach 17-33lm/w, high brightness. However, due to the short life and expensive quartz glass, the cost of use is higher.

LED lights: Have a lower heat generation, helping to reduce electricity demand and reduce the use of cooling equipment such as air conditioning. In addition, LED lighting also has the characteristics of dimmability, environmental protection (does not contain harmful substances such as mercury), and adjustable color temperature.

In summary, halogen lamps and LED lamps have significant differences in luminous principle, energy consumption, color temperature, service life, use and other characteristics. The choice of lamps depends on the specific application scenario and needs.
